Marcus and Michele Bachmann own Bachmann and Associates, a “Christian counseling” center that, despite Marcus Bachmann’s claims that the clinic does not engage in the harmful pseudo-science of “reparative” or “ex-gay” therapy — the use of God to attempt to turn homosexuals into heterosexuals — this hidden camera, undercover investigative video proves without any doubt that Bachmann and Associates indeed engages in the practice of “ex-gay” therapy, and that the Bachmanns are lying when they say they do not.
In this ABC News video report, you’ll see, as The New Civil Rights Movement first reported Saturday, John M. Becker, Director of Communications & Development for Truth Wins Out (TWO), pretending to be a patient wanting a Bachmann and Associates counselor, Timothy Wiertzema, to cure him of his homosexuality.
“God has created you for heterosexuality,” Wiertzema tells Becker, adding, “God has designed the eyes to be attracted to the woman’s body.”
A few salient facts to remember:
The Bachmanns take federal and state monies — in opposition to Michele Bachmann’s public stance — to run the Christian clinic — which many say is in violation of Minnesota law, at least.
“Reparative” or “ex-gay” therapy has been deemed ineffective and harmful, by the scientific community.
The counselors are not doctors. Michele Bachmann’s claim that Marcus Bachmann is a licensed PhD in marriage counseling is in dispute.
Marcus Bachmann is on record saying that gays are “barbarians” who need to be “disciplined.”
