Sally Kern, the censured Oklahoma lawmaker, claimed that gays and homosexuality are “more dangerous” than terrorists, on a radio talk show with certified hate group head Peter LaBarbera, of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality. Kern, who has spent the summer pushing her new victimization book, “The Stoning of Sally Kern,” posits the concept that HIV/AIDS has killed more people than the terrorist attacks on 9/11 and other acts of domestic terrorism, as she says terrorists have killed 5000 people in the U.S.

You know if you just look at it in practical terms, which has destroyed and ended the life of more people? Terrorism attack here in America or HIV/AIDS? In the last twenty years, fifteen to twenty years, we’ve had maybe three terrorist attacks on our soil with a little over 5,000 people regrettably losing their lives. In the same time frame, there have been hundreds of thousands who have died because of having AIDS. So which one’s the biggest threat? And you know, every day our young people, adults too, but especially our young people, are bombarded at school, in movies, in music, on TV, in the mall, in magazines, they’re bombarded with ‘homosexuality is normal and natural.’ It’s something they have to deal with every day. Fortunately we don’t have to deal with a terrorist attack every day, and that’s what I mean.

It’s more dangerous, and yes I think that it’s also more dangerous because it will tear down the moral fiber of this nation. We were founded as a nation upon the principles of religion and morality, if we take those out from under our society we will lose what has made us a great nation, we will no longer be a virtuous people, which we see happening already. And without virtue this nation will not survive.
Sadly, Kern doesn’t really care about the people living with HIV/AIDS, or people who have died from it. It’s just a convenient statistic for her to use in her daily hate- and fear-mongering.
If Kern really cared about people and death, she would act on this, via the American Cancer Society.
In 2011, about 571,950 Americans are expected to die of cancer, more than 1,500 people a day. Cancer is the second most com mon cause of death in the US, exceeded only by heart disease. In the US, cancer accounts for nearly 1 of every 4 deaths.
In fact, the CDC reports that on average, 7454 people die each year of cancer in Kern’s home state of Oklahoma. Do you hear her talking about the evils of smoking? Or the importance of health care?
In 2008, Kern said, “Studies show that no society that has totally embraced homosexuality has lasted more than, you know, a few decades. So it’s the death knell of this country. I honestly think it’s the biggest threat our nation has, even more so than terrorism or Islam — which I think is a big threat, okay? Cause what’s happening now is they are going after, in schools, two-​year olds…And this stuff is deadly, and it’s spreading, and it will destroy our young people, it will destroy this nation.â€
Kern is known for her vicious attacks on gays and lesbians, but many are unaware that she was censured by her own fellow Oklahoma lawmakers for her racist and misogynist comments suggesting that blacks and women are less motivated to work than white men.
In July of 2009, Kern created and publicly signed a “Proclamation for Morality,†which blamed the U.S.‘s economic crisis on, among other acts of “debauchery,†same-​sex marriage, timed so she could get Independence Day coverage.
Kern also was taped at a fundraiser saying “the homosexual agenda is destroying this nation,” and that “gays are infiltrating our city councils,” whatever that means, since  tax-paying members of the LGBT community have every right to hold elected office. Kern also said that “not everybody’s lifestyle is equal, just like not all religions are equal.”
