Anti-Gay Marriage Rudy Giuliani Lies, Says 9/11 Didn’t Happen Under Bush

Bush Was President During 9/11, The Shoe Bomber, And The Anthrax Attacks

Swptember 14, 2001: Giuliani and Bush at Ground Zero

Rudy Giuliani, the mayor of New York City in 2001 when the terrorists hit the World Trade Center towers, looked in George Stephanopoulis’ eyes this morning and said, “We had no domestic attacks under Bush.” Was he not there? This is one of the most disgusting lies I have heard in quite some time. I live in New York City, and I lived in New York City on 9/11. I even went to work that day in SoHo, just blocks away from the Twin Towers, after they were hit.

Let’s not forget, not only did 9/11 happen under George W. Bush, but so did Richard Reid – the “shoe bomber,” and, those horrible weeks right after 9/11 that we were all microwaving our mail, for fear of another anthrax attack. (Five people died and seventeen people were infected during the anthrax attacks.)

No domestic terrorist attacks under Bush? Bullshit.

Giuliani’s one claim to fame was his performance as mayor on 9/11. Trust me, on 9/10 he was literally fighting to keep his job. If 9/11 hadn’t happened, you never would have heard from him again. He has used 9/11 as his calling card, despite the fact that his policies led to the direct death on so many police officers and firefighters that day.

To outright lie about 9/11 is treacherous.

And it just shows you what some people will do: use an issue as it suits them, regardless of the human cost.

Speaking of using people and issues, it was Giuliani who actually lived with a same-sex couple then stiffed them at their wedding. Via a Towleroad May 4, 2009 piece:

“Howard Koeppel and Mark Hsiao, the New York couple who housed former mayor Rudy Giuliani for six months during his messy split with wife Donna Hanover, were married in a ceremony in Westport, Connecticut yesterday .

Giuliani “was a last-minute no-show,” the New York Post reports.”

Ah, the sanctity of marriage… Actually, speaking of the sanctity of marriage, Giuliani, who is against gay marriage, has been married three times. Guess he just wants as much sanctity as he can get.
