Chris Barron, co-founder of the gay Republican Tea Party group GOProud, last night sent a tweet advocating violence against a popular liberal journalist, David Corn. “Someone should punch David Corn in the face. Honestly,” Barron tweeted (unless his Twitter account was hacked?…)
No idea why Barron would advocate violence against a highly-respected journalist, though Corn’s Twitter feed is filled with facts a conservative would not like. David Corn is the Washington bureau chief for Mother Jones, and was the Washington editor for The Nation.
Barron has a history of making incendiary remarks about liberals. Last summer, for example, Barron appeared on CNN and immediately started to bash gay liberals while throwing support to Michele Bachmann.
Chris Barron was forced to resign as Chair of GOProud after an ugly outing scandal last year.
Also last year, Towleroad wrote, “GOProud’s Chris Barron Compares GLAAD To terrorists.”
