var addthis_config = {“data_track_addressbar”:true};Bryan Fischer, the public face of the certified anti-gay hate group, American Family Association, Sunday came out in favor of Uganda‘s anti-homosexuality law. Via Twitter, Fischer praised Uganda, falsely suggesting Uganda had just made homosexuality illegal. In fact, homosexuality has been illegal since British 19th century colonial rule. It’s rather embarrassing for Fischer to be unaware of the state of Uganda’s anti-homosexuality law.
“Homosexuality now against the law in Uganda, just as it was for 200 years in the US. It can be done,” Fischer wrote.
The article Fischer linked to, a World Net Daily piece, focuses on another anti-gay hate group leader, Scott Lively, whom many credit with getting Uganda’s “Kill The Gays” bill drafted and into Uganda’s lawmakers’ hands.
“Britain was at its height as a world power when it honored God as the Ugandan president has just done. America’s greatness has similarly diminished as we have shifted from a Christian to a secular-humanist country. But watch now for Uganda to be blessed by God for their desire to be His,†Lively said.
Lively added that Museveni is definitely drawing a contrast between Uganda and the West.
“This incident is also important as a contrast to the picture being painted of Uganda by the godless left of a backwards, violent and savage culture intent on murdering homosexuals,†Lively said.
“On the contrary, Museveni is calmly and confidently setting the course of his nation by the guidance of the Bible, in a way that also shows great courage and resolve,†Lively said.
Fischer, apparently, then invited Lively onto his radio show.
Uganda’s infamous Kill The Gays bill, which Fischer did not seem to take a stand on either way, this week was successfully voted out of committee, meaning it passed the committee vote and will be voted upon by the complete parliament, although a date has not been publicized.

And despite media reports to the contrary, it is doubtful the death penalty from the Kill The Gays bill has been permanently removed.
