Allen West’s Numbers Problem

Congressman Allen West, whose documented stack of lies keeps getting bigger and bigger, just added another stupid one to the pile. First, a thought about lies. Why? Why would a U.S. Congressman who gets tons of media attention, feel such a strong need to lie — and to lie so much? I’ll leave that to your imagination — or Allen West’s mental health professional, whom I truly hope exists.

It’s not a big lie, but it was so unnecessary, and like most of West’s lies, so easily refuted.

“I have 70,000 people who follow me directly on Twitter.”

Well, Congressman, unless half of them just unfollowed you, no, you don’t. See image above.

“We are the number one Congressional Office for Twitter and Facebook in Washington, D.C.”

What does that even mean? Trust me, Twitter and Facebook don’t go around rating Congressional offices. They don’t give out awards. So what does that mean? Number one in number of followers? Number one in number of tweets? Number one what?

Well, I’ll again leave it to the Florida Congressman to explain himself. I will also assume he’s just lying and bragging unless he can prove otherwise.

Here are a few images that prove him wrong.

Dealing with Allen West’s lies is like playing Whack-A-Mole. Get rid of one and another one pops up.
