Allen West: I Did Not Tell Obama To “Get The Hell Out Of The US” Even Though There’s Video

Republican Rep. Allen West, known mostly for his record of incendiary rhetoric and outright lies, now claims he did not tell President Barack Obama, Senator Harry Reid, Rep. Nancy Pelosi and DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz to “get the hell out of the United States,” even though there’s plenty of video that proves he did. In an interview with CNN’s Soledad O’Brien, West said she was taking his comments out of context and should listen to the entire speech.

In a speech to the Palm Beach County GOP in West Palm Beach, Florida, his home state, West on Saturday said:

“This is a battlefield that we must stand upon. And we need to let President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and my dear friend, chairman of the Democrat National Committee, we need to let them know that Florida ain’t on the table.”

“Take your message of equality of achievement, take your message of economic dependency, take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else,” West continued. “You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America.”

“Yeah I said ‘hell.’”

But now West tells O’Brien, “absolutely not,” he did not say those words.

“I don’t get it. I mean, I don’t understand what you’re saying, you’re telling Obama and Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi to get out of the United States?” Soledad O’Brien asked Congressman West yesterday.

“No, Soledad. Soledad, absolutely not. And you know that,” West responded.

“No, I truly, no joke, I’m not being facetious. I don’t get what you’re saying,” O’Brien insisted.

In an October interview, West repeated the Daily Caller/Fox News lie that the EPA is going to hire 230,000 regulators that will cost the taxpayer $21 billion.

Recently, West has associated homosexuality to ice cream, opposed gays in the military, said, “you cannot compare me and my race to a behavior. Sexuality is a behavior,” called an LGBT group “intolerable,” called Obama supporters “a threat to the gene pool,” attacked fellow Congressman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and more.

Congressman West has also said of homosexuality, “Unless I’m Michael Jackson I can’t change my color. But people can change behavior.”

Of course, West is best-known for claiming he has a higher security clearance that the President of the United State of America, a patently-false lie. And if (unimaginable “if”) it were true, he wouldn’t even be able to say it.
