‘We Do Not’ Support Background Checks Says NRA To Congress On Gun Show Sales

Wayne LaPierre, head of the NRA, today told the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee “we do not” support background checks at gun shows. Currently, 40 percent of all gun sales are made bypassing background checks via the gun show loophole.

“They’re criminals, they’re homicidal maniacs, and they’re mentally ill. We all know that homicidal maniacs, criminals, and the insane don’t abide by the law,” LaPierre told Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Patrick Leahy (D-VT).
