“I’ll Do It Tomorrow”

New Hampshire And New York Votes Are About To Happen

Yeah, I know, you’ve heard that line somewhere before. But this time, it’s for real. And it’s serious.

We have two very important issues at hand: On Wednesday, the New Hampshire Legislature votes again on their gay marriage bill. You’ll remember, we thought this was in the bag a few weeks ago, until the NH House surprised us. (And Maggie Gallagher personally took credit for beating gay marriage proponents.) Now we have another vote, another chance to win another state. You already know NOM is working hard in New Hampshire; we need to also.

Contact the Governor. Contact the Legislature. Contact your friends who live in New Hampshire. Let’s make this one happen!

Next up, New York! The New York State Senate has less than three weeks to vote on the gay marriage bill. We need to put a lot of pressure on them. In both New Hampshire and New York we have willing Governors, waiting to sign these bills, and in both states it’s just one House that is causing the problem. Let’s help them make the right decision. They need to know we support them in their desire to deliver marriage equality to their constituents.

Contact the New York State Legislature, through this new website just launched by the New York Civil Liberties Union: MarriageNY.com.

But do this NOW. Tomorrow may be too late.
