Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell has been the subject of much discussion in and outside the military since the President’s State of the Union speech.
Top USAF brass, as the above letter states, are conducting “an assessment of the implications of repealing ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’ legislation,” and examining “the effects of this potential change.” Potential change? Our Commander in Chief, the President, said he was going to work with Congress to repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” Moreover, he has directed the military to make it happen. And a majority of the American people want “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” repealed, by a large margin.

“Does anyone else find it creepy that we are now polling soldiers as to what they think the Congress should do with regards to something the Commander in Chief has already ordered? Here’s a thought: Salute.”
“Note from the letter that the Air Force is apparently confused as to the purpose of the study. They seem to think it’s about whether to repeal the ban, rather than how to implement the repeal. Just another subtle bit of insubordination from our military leaders.”
