Rudy Giuliani has a 2012 Twitter account? A Twitter account bearing the name Rudolph W. Giuliani and Twitter handle @RudyG2012 has appeared, with its first tweet on May 20. @RudyG2012’s bio reads, “Former U.S. Associate Attorney General (1981-1983), U.S. District Attorney (1983-1989), Mayor of New York City (1993-2001),” and bears the former GOP presidential contender’s photo.
The presumed Rudy Giuliani account, @RudyG2012, has only 30 followers (I am follower #31!) but is following Governor Scott Walker, the NY Daily News, Joe Lieberman, Florida’s Governor Rick Scott, among others. But here’s the tip that this must be a fake account: @RudyG2012 is following Freedom to Marry: “the campaign to win marriage nationwide for all loving and committed couples,” including same-sex couples.
That does it – fake. Or, is it?…
While Giuliani has said, “I clearly believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, although I did support domestic partnerships and still do a contractual relationship,†it would be a smart move (and the right move!) to support full legal civil marriage equality.
