Lin-Manuel Miranda, the Tony Award-winning composer-lyricist of Broadway’s “In the Heights,” recorded this video urging Hispanics and Latinos to vote. Though I think the subtitles don’t match…
The YouTube description adds:
Movimiento Hispano (Hispanic Movement) is a project of Latinos for Democracy (LFD) aimed at increasing Latino civic engagement and voter turnout.
LFD is a coalition comprised of the Hispanic Federation (HF), The Labor Council for Latin American Advancement (LCLAA) and the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC). LFD has launched this website in order to create a nonpartisan, culturally competent virtual tool that will guide citizens on how to register to vote and engage civically online. Over the past 10 years, the members of LFD have worked with over 2.1 million Latino Trade unionists, 135,000 volunteer members, and over 100 community-based organizations to advance Latino voter mobilization.
