  • Joe Biden To Make Oscar Appearance Introducing Lady Gaga Song About Sexual Assault

The vice president will use the opportunity to promote a White House initiative to stop sexual assault and domestic violence.

ABC News has announced that Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to be a "special presenter" Sunday evening at the 88th annual Academy Award Show.

The vice president will introduce the Lady Gaga song, “Til It Happens To You,” which is nominated for an Oscar. The song is from “The Hunting Ground,” a documentary film about sexual assault on college campuses. The White House says V.P. Biden will use the opportunity to promote It’s On Us a White House initiative to address rape and domestic violence. The Vice President will ask viewers to take a pledge, which It's On Us calls:

"A personal commitment to help keep women and men safe from sexual assault. It is a promise not to be a bystander to the problem, but to be a part of the solution."

    The pledge asks signatories:

To RECOGNIZE that non-consensual sex is sexual assault.

To IDENTIFY situations in which sexual assault may occur.

To INTERVENE in situations where consent has not or cannot be given.

To CREATE an environment in which sexual assault is unacceptable and survivors are supported.

Here's Lady Gaga's song "Til It Happens To You" which V.P. Biden will introduce:
