Thousands of protesters gathered in Columbus Circle in New York City today, expecting to march to the Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue to demonstrate their disdain for Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump and his anti-immigrant policies.
The protest began peacefully as the crowd gathered, waving anti-Trump signs and beating drums. But things quickly degenerated when the crowd began to move, as police used tear gas to keep the protesters from entering the street, perhaps out of concern they planned to obstruct traffic like Anti-Trump protesters in Arizona did earlier today.
