Trump Announces ‘Major Investigation Into VOTER FRAUD’ Despite Zero Evidence
Trump and His Press Secretary Again Were Caught in a Lie
His administration’s credibility swirling out of control, President Donald Trump Wednesday morning announced via Twitter he will call for an investigation into voter fraud, despite there being zero evidence it exists on any major or impactful scale. Trump on Monday shocked many after he spent approximately ten minutes telling both Democratic and Republican congressional leaders that he would have won the popular vote if three to five million ballots were not cast illegally.Â
I will be asking for a major investigation into VOTER FRAUD, including those registered to vote in two states, those who are illegal and….

even, those registered to vote who are dead (and many for a long time). Depending on results, we will strengthen up voting procedures!

Note carefully Trump has already changed to content of his accusations in the above tweets.
On Monday Trump claimed 3-5 million had voted illegally, some say he was suggesting “illegals,” the undocumented, were voting. Trump White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, in a disastrous press briefing on Tuesday told reporters Trump has a long-standing “belief” that millions voted illegally and that there is massive voter fraud.
When pressed, Spicer cited a 2008 Pew study on voter fraud, which does not exist, and claimed it says 14 percent of votes cast were by non-citizens, which is also false.
A 2012 Pew study found America’s voter registration system, largely for lack of funds, is backlogged and has not been updated. It contains many names on the rolls of people who have died, or moved.Â

But outdated voter rolls do not constitute voter fraud. Trump, who is already focused on winning re-election, will use this “investigation” to disenfranchise those who oppose him.
There is no data, no study, and there are no legitimate reports of massive voter fraud. Even Ohio’s Secretary of State, a Republican, Wednesday morning pushed back on Trump’s call for an investigation, tweeting:
We conducted a review 4 years ago in Ohio & already have a statewide review of 2016 election underway. Easy to vote, hard to cheat #Ohio https://t.co/OpDrPUX6Ev

And even Trump’s legal team has stated there was no massive voter fraud:
“All available evidence suggests that the 2016 general election was not tainted by fraud/mistake” -Trump legal team on Stein recount 12/1/16

Trump, and his press secretary, again, were caught in a lie and now the president is being forced to take action, and divert funds and manpower to save face.
This is what the Trump administration has become: the personal embodiment of Donald Trump’s ego.
Some, however, are warning that Trump’s investigation will turn into a crackdown on those who oppose Trump, an attack on voting rights, and an attack on minorities.
Always worth saying that President Trump’s “belief” in mass voter fraud is an obvious set up for a crack down on voting led by AG Sessions.

Donald Trump foments violence and hate, is a serial liar, a racist, a misogynist, a supporter of white nationalism, a fascistic bully, an authoritarian thug, a sexual assault and adultery braggart, a hypocrite, a defrauder, and is a danger to civil rights, freedom of the press, and peace around the world.
