Target’s Same-Sex Wedding Registry Ad Is Kinda Awesome

Target last month released this wedding registry ad featuring a same-sex couple. It didn’t get much press, but it did come on the heels of Target’s sold-out LGBT-supportive T-shirt line. All the sales from those T-Shirts went to the Family Equality Council, prompting the Family Research Council (FRC), a certified hate group, to target Target for their support of same-sex marriage. FRC claimed the retail giant was disenfranchising voters’ “right” to vote on marriage and was working to put anti-gay adoption agencies out of business.

Target is on the New York Stock Exchange as NYSE:TGT.

Where is this change coming from? In 2010 Target was donating hundreds of thousands of dollars to anti-gay politians…not sure i believe they’ve made a change or are just using LGBT themes to make money off of us.

That's a distortion of history. They were donating money to a pro-business PAC, which in turn donated to pro-business candidates, one of whom was also anti-gay. I thought that attacking Target for something twice-removed was a bit of a witch hunt, and I still do. They had a 100% rating from the HRC before giving to that PAC.

PER MSN.COM: Target can’t seem to find the mark on its gay marriage stance. First the retailer donated money to a group that was backing an anti-gay-marriage candidate. That made some people angry, so it released a T-shirt to raise money to help repeal a gay marriage ban. Soon after, the company seemed to switch positions again, refusing to sell Frank Ocean’s new album after he came out (though Target execs insisted his sexual preference didn’t come into play). Now the corporate flip-floppers have completed the circle of confusion by releasing an ad showing two men canoodling and the words, “Build a Target wedding gift registry as unique as the two of you.” It’s OK, our heads are spinning, too. I’m not the only one that’s confused.

Oh good. Another big box store has caved in to Political Correctness. Oh, and by the way: I'm gay. Which doesn't mean I think in lockstep with the fascist, lefty "gay rights" crowd.

Who gives out those certificates? Are they suitable for framing.
