Marriage Equality Bill: Here’s What It Looks Like In the Illinois State Capitol Right Now
Still no word yet on whether or not the Illinois House will vote on same-sex marriage, but today is the last day of the session. Activists are excited and held a rally outside the state Capitol, and just moved inside, singing, “This land is your land, this land was made for you and me.”

In what many are seeing as a positive sign, Speaker Madigan has invited LGBT families into the Speaker’s Box.

If it passes, Governor Pat Quinn will sign it into law, making Illinois the 13th state to extend marriage to same-sex couples.
