Kids Seeing Gays In Parks Will Cause Them To Have Sex With Animals
A New York City Pastor in Harlem is preaching that kids who see gays in public parks will think it’s OK to have sex with animals, and claims that he knows that “God does not want to see homosexuals in our parks.”
Ring in the “gays are pedophiles and advocate bestiality” chorus!
Claiming he and his family won’t leave the house that day, Dr. Ronald Ferguson, the senior pastor at Antioch Church of God on W. 124th St., is responding to the second annual “Harlem Pride,” an upcoming gay and lesbian pride picnic slated for June 24 in Marcus Garvey Park.
“If children start to believe it is okay to be gay, they will think it’s okay to be a pedophile or have sex with animals,” Ferguson says, adding, of course, just like everything else religious conservatives hate, “It’s a slippery slope,” and yes, an “abomination.”
“This gay pride nonsense is an abomination,” Ferguson told the Daily News.
Pastor Charles Curtis of Mount Olivet Baptist Church added, “The park is a family area, and the homosexual agenda will do nothing but harm the community.”
Note that gays and lesbians, and bisexual and transgender people pay the same taxes — often more — and receive less benefits than our heterosexual brothers and sisters. Our families (gays have families, too!) have every right use public parks. Last I checked, public parks were not dedicated to straight religious bigots, who, it should be noted, thanks to tax-free churches, don’t have to pay the same taxes. So, in theory, one might chose to argue, we have even more right to public parks, since we pay more to maintain them.
