Birther King Donald Trump Announces $10 Million Anti-Obama Super PAC
Donald Trump, the King of the Birthers, has announced he is planning to put up as much as $10 million to establish an anti-Obama Super PAC to get Mitt Romney elected. In a CNBC interview today, Trump, who is a Mitt Romney supporter, also doubled-down on his insistence President Barack Obama was not born in this country, and extolled the virtues of Mitt Romney‘s policies on China and oil.

“I think we’ll do our own super PAC. A lot of people are coming and saying ‘will you give us millions of dollars?’ and I think if I’m going to put up millions of dollars I might just do it myself,” Trump told CNBC’s Squawk Box. “You put up five or ten million dollars into a super PAC and you do your own thing.”
On the birther issue, Trump made clear he’s not backing down, despite th fact that his key choice, Mitt Romney, won’t support his birther accusations — but won’t strongly deny them either.
“I’m not fanning flames … a lot of people are questioning his birth certificate,” Trump said, spewing long-debunked birther theories, just musing on-air about what run throughs his head, and falsely paraphrasing comments others have made in support of the President.
“I’ve been known as a very smart guy for a long time, I don’t consider myself birther or not birther, but there are some major questions here, and the press doesn’t want to cover it,” Trump said.
The New York Times adds:
The doubts about Mr. Obama’s birthplace — and its impact on whether he can legitimately be president — have been thoroughly discredited by mainstream news organizations and rejected by politicians of both parties.
But there remain pockets of enthusiasm for the narrative that Mr. Obama should never have been allowed to be president. It’s possible that Mr. Romney does not want to alienate those voters by throwing Mr. Trump overboard.
Instead, the two men will gather together Tuesday night at Trump’s Las Vegas hotel to raise money for the Romney campaign.
