There’s so much more that could be said about GOProud, their frat house antics, de-facto endorsement of Michele Bachmann, etc., but, well, why even bother? Instead, let’s just say, “thanks for nothing,” and, “good riddance.”
Will GOProud co-founder Jimmy LaSalvia’s leaving the Republican Party make a difference?
Perhaps the answer is based on one question: Did LaSalvia make a difference when he was in the Republican Party?
Bruce Carroll, aka @GayPatriot, earlier this year claimed he was going to be South Carolina’s next Republican U.S. Senator. Tonight, he called Dan Savage a “TwatWaffle.”
Jimmy LaSalvia and Chris Barron have just quit GOProud, the four-year old gay Tea Party Republican group they founded four years ago, claiming it has been “successful.”
CPAC, the Conservative Political Action Conference, tonight (shockingly) held a gay rights panel titled “A Rainbow on the Right: Growing the Coalition, Bringing Tolerance Out of the Closet.”
CPAC for the past few years has banned GOProud, the Tea Party’s gay group, from sponsoring any events. But one group will make sure gay rights are discussed.
Thomas Roberts, GOProud’s Jimmy LaSalvia and Steve Schmidt discuss that over 80 Republicans are signing an amicus brief asking the Supreme Court to support marriage equality.
If it’s news to you that gay GOP group GOProud did not support same-sex marriage, you’re not alone. GOProud, the gay Tea Party branch now supports marriage equality.
Of course Ann Coulter was just kidding when she wrote, “Last Thursday was national ‘coming out’ day. This Monday is national ‘disown your son’ day.” Right?…
Barney Frank has just released a lengthy, scathing statement defending comments in which he called gay GOP groups, especially the Log Cabin Republicans, “Uncle Tom.”
Ann Couter today became the second conservative to advocate violence against liberals. During Romney’s speech Coulter tweeted, “KILL THE “($;&(:#* LIBERAL HECKLERS!”
GOProud’s Chris Barron last night sent a tweet advocating violence against a liberal journalist, David Corn. “Someone should punch David Corn in the face. Honestly.”
Today Dan Savage tweeted his feelings upon learning that GOProud, the gay Republican Tea Party group, had endorsed Mitt Romney. So did Michelle Malkin. Kind of.
The Blaze posted a story about GOProud’s endorsement of Mitt Romney with the headline, “GOProud Gets Behind Mitt Romney, So To Speak.” Homophobic much?
