Same-Sex Marriage Turns Christians Into Second-Class Citizens Says Brown

Brian Brown, the president of the National Organization For Marriage (NOM) is panicking. Forced to latch onto the Supreme Court’s temporary stay of same-sex marriage in Utah as his only “success” in over a year, Brown dashed off an incredibly lengthy fundraising email blast this morning.

And he uses the word “momentum” four times — as if there is any.

Brown writes that “this week saw a monumental shift in momentum for the marriage debate in our country,” as if the Court’s stay were a big deal. It’s not. If anything, it paves the way for the Court to appear to be fair if the case gets to them.

Brown is actually advocating for amending the U.S. Constitution to include a ban on same-sex marriage. Given that a good 55 percent of the country supports same-sex marriage, Brown is clearly bottom-feeding for email addresses add to his fundraising lists.

And — surprise! — the petition is housed on the Act Right website, which Brown owns. How very convenient.

But then there’s this shockingly vicious attack.

“The granting of this stay changes the momentum in a very real way and slows the stampede of rabid same-sex marriage bullies who are willing to trample over the rights of everyone else in order to get their way. There’s no telling how many true constitutional rights these radicals would run roughshod over to gain their prize of a faux right to genderless ‘marriage’ and a regime under which Christians and others are relegated to second-class citizen status.”
[Emphasis ours]

Let’s look at that again:

“rabid same-sex marriage bullies who are willing to trample over the rights of everyone else in order to get their way”

“how many true constitutional rights these radicals would run roughshod over”

“Christians and others are relegated to second-class citizen status”

Brown is actually claiming that same-sex marriage will turn Christians into second-class citizens.

He fails to mention on which planet.

“Christians and others are relegated to second-class citizen status”. Ummm…kinda like you are making us??? Brian Brown, you're an idiot, have always been an idiot, and will continue, yes, to be an idiot. I wish you could feel what it's like to be treated as a second class citizen.

This from a greedy anti-gay activist "Christian" whose goal is to ban same-sex marriage and relegate all gay American taxpayers to second-class citizen status. The projecting from this man would be hysterically funny if he weren't so evil.

Brown is a real piece of work. He acts as if rights are a zero-sum game: they're not. Just because one group f people is gaining access to rights does not mean that another group inevitably had to lose rights. Of course, the "rights" Brown is talking about were never rights in the first place; they were privileges. Are anti-gay people losing something ? Yes. They are losing the privilege of saying whatever they want about the LGBT community without getting any pushback. Other than that, nothing else is happening to them. Granting same-sex couples access to a marriage license does not alter their access t any of the rights and responsibilities citizens of the United States have.

The more irrelevant they become, the louder the tantrum they throw. Brown and others like him recognize they are on the losing side of the issue and are desperately trying to demonstrate their relevance. There is nothing remotely Xtian about Brown or the rabid freaks he represents.

I take a bit of comfort and enjoyment from the fact that if there is a god and an eventual day of judgement, asshats like Brown are in for a rude awakening.

I take comfort in imagining that someday several of Brian's children will turn out to be godless homosexuals who will cause him unceasing pain until the day he dies.

Er, no, Mr Brown. Second class citizenship is what your ilk have been imposing on Lesbian and Gay Americans.

We all should recognize why Brian is on his never ending crusade. He has to be on board with something that will have lots of mileage. If not, he would be forced to go out and get a real job in whatever he trained to do, which mysteriously no one has a clue what that is. Same for Maggie and Brian… what DID they do before they went on the anti-gay bandwagon? Well, we know what Maggie was doing, she was having out of wedlock kids… she has to maintain her status as hypocrite First Class.
