International Poll: No Confidence in Donald Trump
15-Nation Poll Shows Trump Inspires Single-Digit Confidence in Some Countries
Pew Research, which describes itself as “a nonpartisan fact tank that informs the public about the issues, attitudes and trends shaping America and the world,†has released a series of polling results concerning America’s international image.
The research center, which conducts public opinion polling, demographic research, content analysis and other data-driven social science research, surveyed 15 nations. They asked those polled, concerning both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, how much confidence they had in each respective presidential candidate to do the “right thing regarding world affairs.”
Each candidate has a diverse history with other nations, many of which have had ample opportunity to draw their own assumptions concerning the candidates. Trump recently called the country of Belgium a “beautiful city†and just this week began his solicitation of illegal donations from Members of Parliament in at least four countries. Hillary Clinton served as the 67th United States Secretary of State.
The results from the poll are below:
Additional polling found that “positive views of Trump are tied to confidence in another international leader tested: Russian President Vladimir Putin.â€
Clinton, Pew Research also revealed, has seen “double-digit increases in Japan (+23%), the UK (+17%), Spain (+17%), Germany (+13%), China (+13%) and France (+12%)†since the poll was conducted during her 2008 presidential bid.
