‘Every Kid Deserves The Care He Got’: Jimmy Kimmel Shares Photo of Happy, Healthy Son
‘Remind Your Congresspeople’
In early May, ABC late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel shared the compelling story about the birth of his son, William John “Billy†Kimmel.Â
Kimmel detailed Billy’s need for emergency open-heart surgery and the discovery that he was born with a congenital heart defect that will leave him branded for life as having a pre-existing condition. As NCRM reported, his monologue quickly went viral, and the “Jimmy Kimmel test†for health care was born.
“If your baby is going to die and it doesn’t have to, it shouldn’t matter how much money you make,†Kimmel, choking back tears, told his audience at the time. “I think that’s something that whether you’re a Republican or a Democrat or something else, we all agree on that, right?â€Â (Not all Republicans did.)
Republican Senators are expected to vote on an extremely unpopular ObamaCare repeal early next week, though as The Hill reported, they’re unclear what they will actually be voting on.
As such, and to celebrate his son’s health, Jimmy Kimmel took to Twitter today to share a photo of his happy, healthy boy. “Billy is 3 months old & doing great,†he wrote. “Thx for the love & support. Please remind your Congresspeople that every kid deserves the care he got.â€
