Televangelist and multi-millionaire Pat Robertson today on his 700 Club TV show said said the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is “out of control” and may end up killing “a couple billion people.” There are currently an estimated seven billion people on earth, so Robertson’s claim means the EPA, by controlling pollution, may end up killing, say, one-third of the planet’s human population.
Let that sink in for a moment.
Robertson falsely states that the EPA just ignores Congress, while ignoring the fact that the Supreme Court has ruled the EPA has a constitutional mandate to do the work it is charged with doing. In fact, several states sued the EPA in the Supreme Court — for not doing enough — and won.
Apparently, Pat Robertson thinks dirty air and water are OK because God will just fix things?
Robertson specifically mentions the fossil fuel industry. Perhaps he should allow us to examine his investments?
