Nate Silver — the famous statistician and founder of the FiveThirtyEight blog — who predicted perfectly all 50 states in the November presidential election, talks with Conan O’Brien about his new book, The Signal and the Noise: Why Most Predictions Fail but Some Don’t. Silver and O’Brien have a rather in-depth conversation about the 2012 presidential election, and why conservatives were so shocked that Romney lost.
Frankly, this is one of the best interviews I’ve ever seen with Silver. He’s relaxed, generous with his thoughts, and instructive.
It’s almost an hour long — play it, and if you can’t sit and watch it, turn the sound up and keep listening.
Apologies — the video is not scalable.
