Congresswoman Michele Bachmann recorded this curious video announcing her support of Chick-Fil-A, surrounded by garbage cans. In the video, Bachmann claims she is at a Chick-Fil-A, on August 1, when the media and Chick-Fil-A stated they had “world record” sales and customers, yet there’s no Chick-Fil-A sign, and no sign of Chick-Fil-A customers. Which is not to say the Minnesota Congresswoman was lying and wasn’t at Chick-Fil-A on August 1, just maybe her camera operator was really, really bad.

What a revolting bigot. I'm very cynical, with cause, about today's Republican party. I think that for 2012, the Republicans are deliberately encouraging anti-Muslim bigotry because of the (insane) perception among many Republicans that President Obama is a Muslim. The way the Republicans appear to be working it is that the Bachmanns and the Steve Kings hate-monger against Muslims, then somebody like John McCain will say something like "That's not fair to do, Michelle!" so that on balance, the appearance is that the Republican party does not encourage insane and baseless bigotry, and yet, many of its members continue to hate-monger against Muslims (and gays) to encourage the people thus baselessly frightened to vote Republican. With Bachmann on the "intelligence" committee, and continuing to hate-monger against Muslims — allegedly on the basis of "intelligence" — then either McCain and other Republicans believe that Bachmann is misrepresenting the "intelligence" — and they should have her removed from her position — or they are just being phony giving her cover with their faked "That's not fair to do, Michelle!" pronouncements. Bachmann continues to exploit hatred of Muslims, on the basis of "intelligence" — as though she really knew better than President Obama and the Joint Chiefs of Staff what is in national "intelligence" about threats to national security. She doesn't.

I have never been to Minnesota. I won't be visiting Minnesota. It is not just her, she is representative of the people who voted for her. Every Minnesota voter in District 6 did not vote for her, but she has been elected 3 times. A mistake one time is understandable. But 3 times? It could be that Republicans don't have the intelligence to know they made a mistake. Or they think like her. Either reason is very scary.

She seems to have found her milieu.
