Trump Surrogate Who Routinely Posts Fake News Now Calling Real News Fake
Texas Republican Sid Miller In Running To Become Agriculture Secretary
Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller, a Donald Trump surrogate who infamously called Hillary Clinton a “cunt” on Twitter, also routinely posts fake news stories on social media.
But Miller, who’s reportedly in the running to become Trump’s agriculture secretary, is now claiming that a real story about an angry note he left at a restaurant in Amarillo recently is in fact an example of “fake news.”Â
Miller has posted fake news stories in recent years alleging that Islamic terrorists were training at a compound outside Houston, and that an apartment complex forced a Texan to take down his American flag for fear of offending Muslims. In total, Miller has made at least 10 postings of “demonstrably false, misleading or unsupported information,” according to The Texas Tribune.Â
Earlier his week, Miller had dinner at Amarillo’s OHMS Cafe, where he apparently was dissatisfied with his meal. He wrote a note on the back of his business card and left it for the server.Â
“Terrible steak not a rib eye more like prime rib which I hate and I paid 34.00 for mac and cheese,” Miller wrote. Instead of his name, Miller signed the receipt, “Terrible meal!”
After Amarillo’s KAMR-TV ran a story about the incident, Miller took to Facebook to decry it as “fake news.”Â
When the Tribune asked Miller about the actual fake news posts on his social media accounts, he reportedly cut short the interview.Â
“Look, you’re trying to make up the news, and not report the news,” Miller told the Tribune. “I don’t appreciate that.â€Â
Later, Miller alleged in a Facebook post that the Tribune only did its story out of jealousy that he has more Facebook followers.Â
