Trump’s Job Approval Rating Hits Another New Low, Sinks Past Obama’s Worst
President Falls To 37 Percent In Gallup Poll
President Donald Trump’s job approval rating has hit yet another new low in Gallup’s daily tracking poll released Sunday. Â
The rating, which reflects a three-day average from Thursday through Saturday, fell to 37 percent, one point below Trump’s previous record low of 38 percent on Feb. 16. Trump’s current approval rating is below President Barack Obama’s all-time worst of 38 percent, which came during his third year in office. Trump’s approval rating is also the lowest for any president in history this early in an administration: Â

Meanwhile, Trump’s disapproval rating hit a new high of 58 percent on Sunday, up from his previous high of 56 percent on Feb. 16.Â
The ratings aren’t terribly surprising given Trump’s disastrous week, which CNN notes “was beset by complications for his travel ban and the Republican health care plan and controversy over his unfounded claims that his predecessor, Barack Obama, wiretapped his phones during the presidential campaign.”Â
Trump’s highest approval rating in a Gallup polll was 46 percent on Jan. 24 and 25. However, it still marked the lowest initial job approval rating for any president in history, going back to 1953, according to Gallup. Â

It would take a lot for Dems to overcome GOP gerrymandering to win the House in 2018, but a Trump approval rating in the 30s goes a long way https://t.co/4hJpAJBjle

btw, took W. Bush 1881 days in office to fall to 37% approval rating. Trump’s done it in 53 days

It took Ford 157 days to fall to a 37% job approval rating. (Trump did it 58 days) https://t.co/rpj5k9Rfjf pic.twitter.com/XzYl0Z4rNg

What’s amazing is that Trump is polling so badly during a pretty decent economy and no acute security threat. If either of those changes…

This is what happens when you run on a populist agenda and then immediately introduce policies that will screw over your voters. https://t.co/HpeWQ1ATTh
