Donald Trump, the wildly unpopular Birther King and conservative loud mouth may not be long for the world of Macy’s (NYSE:M). Trump branded menswear — much of it made in China, the country he has been hypocritically using to attack President Obama — and home accessories are sold at Macy’s, a fact The Don has trumpeted often, especially when he appears on shows like Late Night With David Letterman.

UPDATE: As of Tuesday, November 13, at 2:30 PM, the number of people signing the Dump Trump petition has risen to over 495,000.

“Donald Trump does not reflect the ‘magic of Macy’s’,” a petition which currently has over 420,000 signatures at MoveOn.org reads:

We urge you to sever ties with him. Macy’s says it has a strong obligation to be “socially responsible” and that “actions speak louder than words.” Indeed. It’s time to act.

Macy’s has a special deal with Donald Trump. They invest in developing Trump’s brand and sell his clothing line and fragrance at their locations. To this end, they have had major events at Macy’s Herald Square location and they often feature and promote Trump in advertisements designed to celebrate the magic of Macy’s.

Those betting against the success of the petition should note that it was started by Angelo Carusone, who used to go by the name of “StopBeck” on Twitter — until he was so successful that Fox dumped Beck. Carusone also was one of the leaders who successfully convinced over 100 advertisers to “Dump Rush” Limbaugh.

In his petition, Carusone notes:

Donald Trump engages in especially unpleasant, nasty and despicable behavior. He has:

- Long engaged in sexist behavior. Trump has a long record of personally attacking women he disagrees by calling them “unattractive,” ugly or fat. He once sent a target a personal note telling her that she has the “face of a dog.” Not even his own daughter is immune to Trump’s sexism. While referring to his daughter, Trump observed: “She does have a very nice figure…if [she] weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.”

- Hypocritically complained about jobs being shipped overseas to China, despite the fact that almost his entire clothing line sold at Macy’s is made in China and other Asian nations.

- Use his public platform to deny the reality of climate change. Following Hurricane Sandy, Trump publicly declared: “The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive.”

- Perpetuated the racially charged birther conspiracy, repeatedly arguing that President Obama has been lying and was not born in the United States.

The list goes on. But the point remains, Macy’s should dump Trump.

Has anyone done any research into the actual "charitable donations' made on his dismally-rated show, "The Apprentice". Any bet that huge sums of those "donations" never made it to their intended recipients.

Trump is a bad excuse. The only thing I want to hear him say is that he has donated 5 million dollars to the victims of Sandy.
