WATCH: Sean Spicer Says He’s ‘Been Very Consistent’ in Calling Muslim Ban a Ban – Except When He Insisted It Wasn’t
‘We’ve Been Very Consistent, Since the First Days of This Administration’ in Calling It a Ban
Remember when Sean Spicer practically got into a fight with reporters when he insisted President Donald Trump’s Muslim ban was not a ban?
Spicer: Not a ban@kwelkernbc: But Trump called it a ban
SS: Media’s words
KW: No, Trump’s word
SS: Not a ban
KW: Is he confused or are you? pic.twitter.com/P30SFmPiXJ— Bradd Jaffy (@BraddJaffy) January 31, 2017
It was so insane Melissa McCarthy used it on Saturday Night Live:
@melissamccarthy as White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer! Brilliant on SNL blaming press for Muslim ban. #melissamccarthy #SNLSpicer ðŸ‘ðŸ¿ðŸ˜‚ pic.twitter.com/IIYrsmI9VR

And President Trump went and called it a ban – after having repeatedly referred to it as a ban:
Everybody is arguing whether or not it is a BAN. Call it what you want, it is about keeping bad people (with bad intentions) out of country!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 1, 2017
So Spicer insisted it was not a ban, amid everyone else in the administration calling it a ban, including himself, except when he wasn’t:
Trump Sat: It’s a ban
Spicer Sun: It’s a ban
Conway Sun: It’s a ban
Trump Mon: It’s a ban
Spicer Mon: It’s a ban
Spicer Tues: It’s not a ban pic.twitter.com/RXkZ1rHl0n— Bradd Jaffy (@BraddJaffy) February 1, 2017
Stunningly, during Monday afternoon’s briefing, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer actually said, “We’ve been very consistent, since the first days of this administration,” in calling it a ban.
Spicer: “We’ve been consistent†in calling it a “travel ban†!
Remember when he famously told @kwelkernbc that it wasn’t a ban? pic.twitter.com/NDpSKE1cI7
