WATCH: ‘Morning Joe’ Scarborough Scalds GOP Politicians Who ‘Keep Looking Into Cameras and Lie’ Every Day
‘Do Not Go to Capitol Hill and Lie Through Your Teeth Every Day’
MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough Friday morning berated his fellow Republicans, attacking the many Capitol Hill lawmakers and D.C. politicians who “keep looking into cameras and lie.” The “Morning Joe” host was specifically angered about Republicans’ lies that the Trump-Ryan budget cuts $850 billion from Medicaid, yet insist it does not.
To be clear, the budget President Donald Trump submitted cuts Social Security and Medicaid, despite his repeated promises to never do so.Â
Scarborough blasted White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney for lying about cuts to Medicaid, calling it a “certifiable lie.” Attacking him for falsely claiming the Trump budget does not include $850 billion in cuts to Medicaid, Scarborough asks, “Why do the Republicans keep looking into cameras and lie?”
“Stop lying about it,” he demanded. “We know you’re lying about it. We’re not stupid.”
(And to be clear once more, Mulvany lies.)Â
“And you Republicans in the House have been lying nonstop about what you’re not going to cut. And who’s not going to lose health coverage. We’re not dumb.”
“I understand that Donald Trump lies all the time, and you’re thinking he got away with it, so you can get away with the lying? You can’t.”
“Do not go to Capitol Hill and lie through your teeth every day,” the “Morning Joe” host, a former Republican congressman, said.
“My party is going straight to hell, politically.”
“They will embrace Valdimir Putin, and Russia, if Donald Trump does,” he charged.
“Why do you sell your soul?” Scarborough, looking into the camera, asked. “And not just your political soul. You are selling your soul if you just keep lying about things.”
