At one point during Wednesday evening’s CNN town hall on guns, Senator Marco Rubio was asked if he would refuse donations from the NRA.
“Can you tell me right now that you will not accept a single donation from the NRA?” student survivor Cameron Kasky asked.
17 people were shot to death at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida one week ago on Valentine’s Day.
Senator Rubio said he would not refuse NRA money.

“People buy into my agenda,” Rubio repeatedly told the audience, saying his positions have not changed since he was first elected.Â
“The influence of these groups comes not from money,” Rubio continued, suggesting the influence is in the number of their members.
