Twitter Refuses to Let Lie Stand
For the past three hours FBI Director James Comey and National Security Director Michael Rogers have been testifying about Russia's actions affecting the 2016 election and their ties to the Trump campaign. While the investigation is ongoing, today for the first time the FBI Director publicly acknowledged that since July of last year the Bureau has been looking into the Trump campaign and Russia.
Asked specifically by the highly partisan Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee if the Russians were able to change any votes cast at the polling stations, both public servants said no.
To be clear, and no one disputes this, Russia, it does not appear, hacked polling stations. But to also be clear, Russia hacked Americans, via social media bots and, yes, fake news stories. Russia turned people who might have voted against Trump into Trump supporters.
So what does the President, who started this morning before 7 AM tweeting that stories about Russia and Trump campaign collusion are "FAKE NEWS" do? He just abused the social media platform, the official Twitter account of the President of the United States.
President Donald Trump just lied to America.
"The NSA and FBI tell Congress that Russia did not influence electoral process."
That's a lie, as any discerning person watching the video the President included would immediately know.
The operative phrase is "changed vote tallies," not, "influenced the electoral process."

What Trump tweeted is a lie, and it's even more despicable that he used the power of his office to do so.
Here are some responses via Twitter:
@POTUS that is a lie!— Leslie Marshall (@LeslieMarshall) March 20, 2017
.@POTUS sit down old man you've been caught. The whole country saw. Your cult followers will cling to this talking point but you've been had— Emanuel Zbeda (@therealezway) March 20, 2017
@POTUS That's literally exactly the opposite of what happened. Worse for Trump, his whole team is being investigated for collusion— Stefanie Iris Weiss (@EcoSexuality) March 20, 2017
@POTUS HE SAID VOTE TALLIES— Michael Urie (@michaelurie) March 20, 2017
