Trump Defends Roy Moore Because He ‘Totally Denies’ Allegations of Sexual Assault
‘Roy Moore Denies It. That’s All I Can Say. He Denies It. By the Way, He Totally Denies It.’
President Donald Trump finally weighed in on the nearly two-week old news of sex scandals surrounding Roy Moore, throwing his support to the embattled former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice. Trump had previously endorsed Moore and has never rescinded that endorsement.
“You have to listen to him also,” Trump told reporters about Roy Moore, adding that “he totally denies” the sexual abuse allegations.
“Let me just tell you, Roy Moore denies it. That’s all I can say. He denies it. By the way, he totally denies it,” Trump said repeatedly.

The President also hinted he may campaign for Moore before the December 12 special election.
Trump did not come right out and admit he still endorses Moore, but he took the opportunity, after throwing Moore his support, to denounce Moore’s Democratic opponent, Doug Jones.
“We don’t need a liberal person in there,” Â Trump said. “Jones: I’ve looked at his record, it’s terrible on crime. It’s terrible on the border. It’s terrible on the military.”
Those points are key for Trump. Whether or not his claim of having researched Jones’ positions is true is unknown.
Moore has been accused by at least nine women of various acts of inappropriate behavior, child sexual assault, and sexual assault including groping. Moore reportedly has a history of hitting on teenaged girls as young as 14. Many of his accusers say they were 16 to 18 years old when he aggressively pursued them.
