Trump Tells GOP Lawmakers ‘I’m Gonna Come After You’ if You Vote Against TrumpCare
‘I Don’t Care if the Press Prints That’
President Donald Trump Tuesday morning told Republican House lawmakers he will “come after” them if they do not vote for TrumpCare, the Republican bill to repeal and “replace” ObamaCare. Earlier today NCRM reported the President had threatened Republican Congressmen by stating they “will lose” their seats if they don’t pass TrumpCare.Â
NBC News reports Trump, after threatening Republicans will lose their seats, added, “I don’t care if the press prints that.”
This new threat is far more extensive than just saying they “will lose” their seats and is revealing of just how unhinged Trump has become.
“I’m gonna come after you,” Trump told lawmakers in a private meeting on the Hill, The Washington Post reports.
The paper cited “several Republican lawmakers who attended the meeting,” adding Trump said: “I know I won’t have to, because I know you’ll vote ‘yes.’”
“Honestly, a loss is not acceptable, folks,†Trump reportedly also said.
The chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, the most conservative of the Republican groups in Congress, Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) “told reporters that the president had not made the sale, that the call-out was good-natured, and that conservative hold-outs would continue pressing for a tougher bill.”
“I’m still a ‘no,’†Rep. Meadows said. “I’ve had no indication that any of my Freedom Caucus colleagues have switched their votes.â€
