Fry, an actor perhaps best-known for his roles in V for Vendetta, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, and 24, was surprised when London tabloids published the news.
Oh. It looks as though a certain cat is out of a certain bag. I’m very very happy of course but had hoped for a private wedding. Fat chance!

The London Telegraph reports that Fry “has been spotted regularly with Elliott, a writer, in recent months, as they enjoyed themselves at Ascot racecourse, the Savoy hotel and in Fry’s home town.”
Spencer’s father has said he is “over the moon” at the news.
Speaking at his home near Southampton, Robert Spencer, 57, said: “We are obviously very happy. We are over the moon, that is all I want to say.”
In a statement, Fry’s assistant told reporters, “Stephen Fry is very happy and proud to say that he has set the wheels in motion for a wedding sometime in the future but no date has been set due to a busy work schedule.”
