Seth Meyers Scorches GOP by Saying Roy Moore ‘Is Very Much Cut From the Same Cloth as Donald Trump’
‘What There Hell Are You Talking About?’
Seth Meyers Wednesday night scorched the Republican Party for backing rather than denouncing Alabama’s “Judge” Roy Moore, noting the the racist, homophobic, Islamophobic, religious extremist birther is “very much cut from the same cloth as Donald Trump.”
After bashing President Trump, saying he “knows he can warm himself up by stocking the fires of racial resentment,” Meyers moved on to Moore.
“And that’s not unique to Trump,” Meyers explained. “It’s a defining feature of the modern GOP,” he said, calling Moore’s win of the primary runoff Tuesday night “a perfect example.”
Meyers went on to call Judge Moore as “a darling of the far right, known for his many years of open bigotry and homophobia.”
The NBC “Late Night with Seth Meyers” host explored what a horrific candidate for the U.S. Senate Moore is. Moore, who has made his political career masquerading as a state Supreme Court justice – and was twice removed from that elected post – has little policy bona fides.
“He relies just as much on open bigotry as Trump and seems to care just as little about actual policy, Meyers said, as Raw Story noted.
Meyers played a clip of Moore admitting he has absolutely “no idea” what DACA, the Obama Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals immigration program, is.Â
After reading the transcript from Moore claiming parts of the U.S. are under Sharia law, Meyers was forced to ask: “What the hell are you talking about?”
