Watch: Trump Tells French President’s Wife She’s ‘In Such Great Shape’ and Awkwardly Yanks Her Hand
President Treats Women in France Same Way He Treats Them in America
Donald Trump is again embarrassing America abroad. The U.S. president flew to Paris Wednesday night. Thursday morning he and the First Lady were greeted by the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and Brigitte Macron, his wife, a former school teacher.
Upon meeting the couple, President Trump exchanged customary kisses with Mrs. Macron, but then grabbed and yanked her hand, as AmericaBlog and others reported.

The juxtaposition is so striking: Compare the quiet grace and gentle formality of Macron’s greeting of Melania. Civilization matters. https://t.co/XaTDRRKDJh

The French press was shocked, as were many here in America. CNN is calling it “awkward.”
But the American president’s inappropriate behavior did not end there.
In the video at the top, clipped the official French presidential Facebook page by IBTimes, Trump tells Mrs. Macron, “You’re in such good shape.”
He repeats it then say, as she again steps back from him, “Beautiful.”
The France correspondent for AFP first noticed the remarks:
As Macron and Trump bid goodbye to first ladies, Trump looks Brigitte up and down. ‘She looks great.. beautiful’ https://t.co/4X7D6qGFCI

French news site L’Express called Trump’s yanking of Macron’s hand “strange,” and in this Google translation says, “his handshakes are now scrutinized.”
The strange habit of the tycoon of real estate is known, especially as he often does not hesitate to crush the phalanges of his interlocutors. So much so that his handshakes are now scrutinized, or even diverted as a message to pass. Like the one that resembled a contest of force, during his first meeting with Emmanuel Macron at the summit of NATO last May, seen as “fierce” by the press at the time.
Some responses to Trump’s inappropriate remarks via Twitter:
Could @potus be creepier?
That’s rhetorical. I know he’s capable of worse. @EmmanuelMacron #TrumpParis https://t.co/pebRwcZguA

Trump is a misogynistic pig. There simply is no better way to put it. He’s terrified of women with brains so he has to reduce them to bodies https://t.co/EmVzau0bOn

W/ Trump’s lifetime of exhibiting pig behavior toward women, this was no simple “you look nice”.
