‘9 to 5’ Stars Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda Reunite at Emmys to Blast Trump
‘A Sexist, Egotistical, Lying, Hypocritical Bigot’
There were many winners at Sunday night’s Emmy Awards, but there one clearly one real loser: President Donald Trump.
Trump was the target of many performers’ speeches, from host Stephen Colbert to Alec Baldwin, whose portrayal of the president on “SNL” earned him an Emmy. Also taking a swing at the unpopular Oval Office occupant were Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Donald Glover, and Charlie Brooker.Â

But the stars of 1980’s “9 to 5,” Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda, offered the most direct and truthful attack on Trump.

“Back in 1980 in ‘9 to 5,’ we refused to be controlled by a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot,†Fonda told the audience, to cheers.
“And in 2017, we still refuse to be controlled by a sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot,†Tomlin added.
