Obama ‘Irked’ After Trump Accused Him of Wire Tapping
Obama ‘Much More Concerned by President Trump Kicking People Off Their Health Insurance’ Than ‘What Trump ‘Tweets at the TV Each Morning’ Source Says
After the president last Saturday posted a series of tweets accusing his predecessor of illegally wire tapping him, he took off as he has done almost every weekend to play golf. Former President Barack Obama and the former First Lady were at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. at the time.
President Obama “was all smiles when he departed the museum, dressed casually and carrying a bag from the gallery’s gift shop,” But upon learning of Trump’s accusations, “Obama was irked and exasperated,” CNN reports, citing “sources close to the former president,” though CNN says “Obama’s reaction stopped short of outright fury.”
The former president “and his aides responded with disbelief when they learned of President Donald Trump’s Saturday morning tweets laying out the charges.”
How “irked” was Obama?
President Obama “rolled his eyes” and was concerned not for his own credibility or reputation but that Trump’s actions “undermine the integrity of the office,” a source told NBC News’ Peter Alexander. The former president “is much more concerned by President Trump kicking people off their health insurance, not staffing the government, not being prepared for a crisis, rolling back regulations so that corporations can pollute the air and water and letting mentally unstable people buy guns with no problems whatsoever.”
Obama “cares about all those things much more than what President Trump tweets at the TV each morning,” NBC reports.
