On Wednesday, House Republican Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes made the extraordinary decision to hold two press conferences decrying the intelligence community’s “unmasking” of U.S. citizens in classified reports, then told President Donald Trump – who is likely under investigation – of his findings.Â
Following that action, which led to many calling for his resignation, and even at least one member of the Intelligence Committee accusing him of possibly having released classified information, Democratic Ranking Member Adam Schiff made a startling statement.
Speaking of collusion between members of the Trump team and Russia, Rep. Schiff said, “there is more than circumstantial evidence now.”

Just hours after his remarks, citing “US officials,” CNN reported, “The FBI cannot yet prove that collusion took place, but the information suggesting collusion is now a large focus of the investigation.”
“The information is raising the suspicions of FBI counterintelligence investigators that the coordination may have taken place, though officials cautioned that the information was not conclusive and that the investigation is ongoing.”
One law enforcement official said the information in hand suggests “people connected to the campaign were in contact and it appeared they were giving the thumbs up to release information when it was ready.”
