GOP Intel Chair Nunes Was on White House Grounds Day Before He Tried to Give Trump Cover
Is Nunes a White House Puppet?
Republican House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes is under even more fire Monday morning after admitting he was on the White House grounds the day before he held his two press conferences alleging improper acts by U.S. intelligence communities.

“Chairman Nunes met with his source at the White House grounds in order to have proximity to a secure location where he could view the information provided by the source,” a statement from Nunes’ spokesperson reads. “The Chairman is extremely concerned by the possible improper unmasking of names of U.S. citizens, and he began looking into this issue even before President Trump tweeted his assertion that the White House had been wiretapped,” the statement concludes.
To be clear, that is absoultely not what Trump tweeted, making Nunes’ actions even more suspect and making them appear even more to be twisting the narrative in order to get Trump off the hook for lying.Â
2. Nunes has repeatedly refused to rule out the White House as the source of his info https://t.co/J9wRHrs0ku

As NBC News’ Ken Dilanian reports (video above) Nunes could have gone to a SCIF (sensitive compartmented information facility), a secure location, on Capitol Hill to view the documents with his source. That he went to the White House lends even more credibility to the claim by Democrats that the source is the White House.
Nunes last week on Wednesday held a press conference without notifying even his Vice Chairman, Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff, then ran to the White House out of “duty” to the President, then held a second press event outside the White House. Many are accusing Nunes, a member of the trump transition team, of running interference for the President and trying to give Trump cover for his tweets accusing former President Barack Obama of felonious wiretapping.
It appears more and more clear that Nunes is merely a White House puppet, and an independent investigation into Trump’s ties to Russia must be organized immediately.
Some responses via Twitter:
Inconceivable that no one in WH knew Nunes, the Chair of a prominent House Committee, was on WH grounds. A staffer must’ve cleared him in. https://t.co/FsvM7moiQa

What a bizarrely convoluted statement from Nunes’ saying he met with source “at the White House grounds” — so it was a WH source.

This is real shady. The House Intel Committee has its own SCIF. There’d be no need to use the one at the WH https://t.co/tgy52dhWgT

So Nunes’ supposed “source” is either a White House staffer or someone else w/ access to grounds AND intel. https://t.co/ZjgmcDMbIe
