Donald Trump Posts Strange Tweet, Twitter Tries to Decipher
Huh?
Â
Thursday morning Donald Trump posted an odd – even for him – tweet: “They will soon be calling me MR. BREXIT!”
They will soon be calling me MR. BREXIT!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 18, 2016
It’s a strange tweet, even for Trump, so many took to Twitter to try to explain:
Mr. Brexit? Because you’ll destroy the US economy, @realDonaldTrump, the way Brexit hurt the one in the UK?#Dipshit https://t.co/JSrK89G24G

#Trump calls himself Mr. Brexit because his brains have taken the exit. He had no clue what it was! #MORON https://t.co/XCO6IV7Ttk

Even Nate Silver took a crack at explaining:
Explainer: Mr. Brexit was the endearingly oafish next-door neighbor in Mary Poppins, Trump’s favorite movie. https://t.co/ErCCLU5hp4

Of course, some offered different responses:
A couple days before Brexit, Trump said no one should listen to him on this because he hadn’t looked into it. https://t.co/SHq5BFp5mp

Kellyanne: Be spontaneous sir, but with policy cred.
Trump: I AM MR. BREXIT
Kellyanne: Ok, so we’re doing this. https://t.co/bIy5QG9aSR— Rebekah (@AtHomePundit) August 18, 2016
@realDonaldTrump I’m calling you something. Can you guess what it is?

@realDonaldTrump You are a strange, little man.

People have questioned his mental state but now Donald Trump has a split personality he calls “Mr. Brexit” he needs to be committed now.

@realDonaldTrump I agree. The majority in the UK view Brexit as a mistake just like the majority in the US view Trump.

Trump: I am Mr. Brexit.
Anyone else imagining him saying this with jazz hands? Just me?— Los Angeles Esther (@angelenoesther) August 18, 2016
But, apparently, posssibly, maybe, this is the answer:
Thank you, Twitter. Apparently Trump is trying to say the polls were wrong about Brexit and they’re wrong about him.https://t.co/s3NxvTPN3p

Of course…
So if we accept Trump’s Brexit poll theory, the polls are off 4-5 points, and he still loses by a clear margin.
These guys are geniuses.

But actually, we’re going with this one:
Trump is Mr. Brexit, not for the reasons he thinks, but rather because Brexit was a xenophobia-fueled economic disaster, just like Trump.
