In a new USA Today interview Hillary Clinton says she will leave the word collusion to legal experts but she is "certain" there was "an understanding" between members of the Donald Trump campaign and Russia. It's a staggering accusation and yet one that she's been making in various forms for over a year – and one the majority of the American people also believe, in various ways.
"I'm convinced of it," Clinton says of collusion by Trump associates. USA Today notes Clinton "stopped short of repeating that explosive word."
"I happen to believe in the rule of law and believe in evidence," Clinton said, "so I'm not going to go off and make all kinds of outrageous claims. But if you look at what we've learned since (the election), it's pretty troubling."
"There certainly was communication and there certainly was an understanding of some sort," charges Clinton, whose new book about the 2016 campaign, What Happened, is being released today.

"Because there's no doubt in my mind that (Russian President Vladimir) Putin wanted me to lose and wanted Trump to win. And there's no doubt in my mind that there are a tangle of financial relationships between Trump and his operation with Russian money," Clinton said.
"And there's no doubt in my mind that the Trump campaign and other associates have worked really hard to hide their connections with Russians."
The question now is will Trump renew his implied demand that Attorney General Jeff Sessions open an investigation into his top political opponent, Hillary Clinton?
Trump has been relatively "calm" on his favorite social media platform over the past week, but he is not known for allowing any slight go unaddressed.
Clinton, during the presidential race, repeatedly said, "A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons." It's not a tweet, but Hillary Clinton just baited Donald Trump.
