Breaking: Trump Breaks Silence on Son’s Actions, Calls Him a ‘High Quality Person’
‘I Applaud His Transparency’ President Says of Donald Trump Jr
President Donald Trump has not said one word about growing revelations, which first began Saturday, his eldest son held a meeting with a Russian government attorney in an attempt to obtain damaging information during the campaign about Hillary Clinton. But after several days of tweeting, Tuesday afternoon President Trump stopped attempting to deflect from the elephant in the room, and addressed the news.
Trump called his son a “quality person,” according to the Associated Press, and praised his “transparency” in posting a four-page email that shows him making plans to gain information from the Russian government about his father’s Democratic opponent.
The president made his remarks through the White House Deputy Press Secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, in yet another press briefing that was closed to cameras.

In the emails Trump Jr. released, was told, “The Crown prosecutor of Russia … offered to provide the Trump campaign with some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father.â€
They go on to note, “This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.â€
In the email, Trump Jr. says if the information is as described, “I love it.”
