‘Spasm of Violence’: Trump Adviser Predicts ‘Insurrection’ and Civil War if President Is Impeached
‘I’m Not Advocating Violence, but I’m Predicting It’ Says Stone
Former Trump campaign advisor and “seasoned practitioner of hard-edged politics” Roger Stone says if President Donald Trump is impeached America will see “insurrection,” a “spasm of violence,” and civil war. Stone, who reportedly still advises Trump, also warned that any lawmaker who votes for impeachment is taking their life in their hands.
“Try to impeach him – just try it. You will have a spasm of violence in this country, an insurrection like you’ve never seen,†Stone told TMZ Thursday. “Both sides are heavily armed, my friend.â€
“The people who are calling for impeachment are the people who didn’t vote for him. They need to get over it. They lost,†Stone says in the video below. “It’s over, you lost.â€
“This is not 1974,” he said, referring to the Watergate era. Stone worked for Nixon’s infamous Committee to Re-elect the President (CREEP).
“A politician who votes for it,” meaning impeachment, “would be endangering their own life,” he added.
And taking a page right out of Trump’s playbook, he stated: “There would be violence on both sides.”
“I’m not advocating violence, but I’m predicting it.”
Asked specifically if Trump were to be impeached there would be “some type of civil war?” Stone said, “Yes.”
ThinkProgress reports that Stone “remains in regular contact with Trump,” and notes a “recent poll found 40% of Americans support impeaching Donald Trump.”
