Bryan Fischer: Akin Is Right — ‘Genuine’ Rape Makes It ‘Impossible’ To Conceive

American Family Association‘s Bryan Fischer today came out in support of comments Congressman Todd Akin made over the weekend, that the bodies of women victims of “legitimate rape” —  as he called it Sunday — can automagically prevent getting pregnant all by themselves.

Fischer, the public face of the certified anti-gay hate group, American Family Association, said:

“When you have a real, genuine rape, a case of forcible rape, a case of assault rape, where a woman has been violated against her will, through the use of physical force,” Fischer describes, adding “there’s a very delicate and complex mix of hormones that take place that are released in a woman’s body and if that gets interfered with it may make it impossible for her or difficult in that particular circumstance to conceive a child.”

Of course, the chances of what Fischer is stating are dramatically low. Just ask the 32,000 women who get pregnant each year through rape.

Fischer is defending a lie. It’s an old one, one meant to demean women, one meant to protect men and one meant to make women out to be “responsible” for being raped (the old, “she wanted it.”)

And it’s disgusting.

Is there any wonder why the American Family Association is on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s list of hate groups? It’s not the hate, it’s the lies.

Thanks to Brian Tashman at Right Wing Watch for the video.

Will the Grumpy Old People ever die off, and leave the rest of us in peace?

WWWest — It's not about being old and grumpy (OK I'm old and grumpy) it's about being stupid and evil. This s**t needs to be called-out loudly, and often. Surprisingly — both Willard Romney and the President called-out Akin on his initial idiotic blurb. I doubt either of them will bother with a non-entity like Bryan Fisher — he's not worth it and he gets-off on the publicity.

I think the accurate term for the GOP is Greedy Overpaid Politicians. They detest women and use the bible to further that detestation.
It's about blaming women for the inability to control their own sexual desires, they blame women for even existing. It's all about the nonsense that Adam was "tempted' to eat an apple that the abusive parent called Jehovah put in the mythical garden.
It was not the snake's fault, it was not Eve's fault, nor Adams. Small children make mistakes and only an abusive and capricious parent would put an apple tree in a garden, tell them No and then throw the children out to fend for themselves.

I beg to differ. It IS the hate – & it's *embodied* by the lies.

All rape, by definition, is forcible.

This moron's statement (Akins, but it hard to keep it straight since they are all morons), will be the gift that keeps on giving for the Democrats from now until the election. Keep talking fools.
