Dr. Keith Ablow, the extremely homophobic and transphobic Fox News psychiatrist, has just announced he will enter the race for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by John Kerry, but with one stipulation: no one can challenge him on the Republican side. Yes, Dr. Ablow is willing to allow the good citizens of Massachusetts the benefit of his public service — as long as it’s not too much of a challenge, inconvenience, or time investment for him.
“We face an unprecedented assault on the Constitution and our individual liberties,” Ablow annpunced via a press release. “If the Republican Party in Massachusetts and the Republican National Committee ask me to run at this time, and offer their support in that effort, I will run. If they support another candidate, I will work hard to elect that candidate. If that candidate should lose, I will, in all likelihood, again offer to be a candidate for Senate from Massachusetts in 2014, under the same conditions. The Party can’t afford to spend precious resources on a divisive primary. If all the leaders of the Party united around me – to preclude a primary, I would run.”
Ablow, who spent much of 2011 attacking Chaz Bono, warning their children might actually become transgender merely by watching Bono on “Dancing With The Stars,” adding that transgenderism is not a civil right, has other notches on his homophobia belt.
Last fall, Ablow wrote a column in praise of Newt Gingrich for his three marriages and two divorces, stating that, “When three women want to sign on for life with a man who is now running for president, I worry more about whether we’ll be clamoring for a third Gingrich term, not whether we’ll want to let him go after one.”
He was panned across both sides of the aisle.
Ablow is no longer a member of the American Psychiatric Association, having resigned, supposed, “in protest,” although it’s unclear that they would have him, as they have disagreed with his comments on Chaz Bono.
Last summer, Ablow came out in support of the junk-science Regnerus “study” that claimed to find children raised by same-sex couples did poorly as adults. Ablow then complained he feared retribution by gay activists, for his support of the fatally-flawed “study.”
In 2011, Ablow declared war on the international, Italy-based clothier Benetton (and demanded you did too,) for its ad campaign of six images of world leaders kissing.
Also in 2011, Dr. Keith Ablow told Bill O’Reilly that Chaz Bono is trying to mainstream transgenderism, and said transgender people are just like heroin addicts and anorexics.
