in News,Politics

Speaker of the House John Boehner said today President Obama‘s election “changes” his promise to repeal Obamacare, and he now accepts that “Obamacare is the law of the land.” That is, until the Tea Party forced the Speaker to retract his comments, made in an interview with ABC News.

The interview was published about 5:00 PM ET. At 5:50 PM, Speaker Boehner said via Twitter, “ObamaCare is law of the land, but it is raising costs & threatening jobs. Our goal has been, and will remain, #fullrepeal.”

Tara Culp-Ressler at Think Progress notes:

During President Obama’s first term, House Republicans spent over 80 hours and $50 million dollars on more than30 failed attempts to repeal Obamacare.

Don't worry ALAN GRAYSON is BACK! He'll tell him what he thinks! and write it in big black letter if necessary.

Boehner's minders are going to have to keep even tighter controll on his comments after he has his mandatory 3 martini "snack-time".

Isn't it odd that all of the GOP candidates, including Romney, promised repeal of the ACA…until Obama won reelection. Could it be that this statement by Boner is the equivalent of declaring war on the Tea Party? Or is it yet another disingenuous ploy of the party that claims "no compromise."
