The now infamous film that provoked outrage in Libya and Cairo which led to the deaths of four American foreign service officers in Benghazi, has been tied to a Christian Charity, Media for Christ, according to a report today in The Huffington Post:

Media for Christ, a Duarte, Calif.-based Christian nonprofit group, applied for the film permit, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune reported. The charity’s misson statement is to “glow Jesus’ light” to the world.

Though Joseph Nassralla, the president of Media for Christ, emerged as a forcebehind the anti-Muslim film, the organization said it had nothing to do with the project and was upset by its content, according to the L.A. Times. Nassralla has reportedly devoted himself to criticizing Islam in speeches and interviews during recent years.

The Huffington Post adds:

“The Innocence of Muslims” was partially filmed on a set built for the CBS TV show “JAG” by Paramount’s TV unit, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Portions of the low-budget film were shot in Santa Clarita, Calif., on an area of the Blue Cloud Film Ranch called “Baghdad Square.” This set has been used by TV and movie productions — including “Iron Man,” “Arrested Development” and “CSI” — to recreate Middle Eastern war zones.

THR reports that Paramount said there is no way to verify whether the studio built the set. However,

The permit for “The Innocence of Muslims,” which was filmed in Los Angeles Countyin August 2011 under the title “Desert Warriors,” has been pulled from public view by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department over safety concerns, TheWrap reported.

Four Americans, including J.Christopher Stevens, the American ambassador in Libya, were killed as a result of the violent protests, which reportedly were caused directly in response to the film.

Also via The Huffington Post:

The “Innocence of Muslims” director duped the 80 cast and crews members involved in the film, according to CNN. They said they were “grossly misled” about the film’s intent and purpose.

“The entire cast and crew are extremely upset and feel taken advantage of by the producer,” they said in a statement to CNN. “We are 100% not behind this film and were grossly misled about its intent and purpose. We are shocked by the drastic rewrites of the script and lies that were told to all involved. We are deeply saddened by the tragedies that have occurred.”

“Media For Christ is a Christ centered work to promote the ever increasing grace of our savior through media tools,” according to their website.

What I want to know is, are ANY of these hate-filled idiots going to be prosecuted? If you rob a bank and someone gets shot, even if you're just the wheel man, you go up on murder charges.

These people are putting out deliberately inflammatory material aimed at nations full of people eager to rabble at the drop of a burqa or any perceived disrespect of their religious beliefs. The reaction to this film was certainly predictable, and interferes with State Department missions.

I WANNA SEE SOME JAIL TIME! Make an example of these idiots so future idiots with camera gear are discouraged from similar behavior.

Sorry, barbonine, these turd eaters musn't be punished for the exercise of their First Amendment rights. Talk about sending the wrong signal to the perps in Libya! "We want you to be a democracy because we don't let people express opinions in democratic nations." Sound a bit odd? It is. You may not be a 1st Amendment absolutist like me, but I only draw the line at falsely shouting "Fire" in a crowded theater. If you have to denigrate another man's religion, your belief in your own cannot be particularly deep. If you have to hurt human beings because of your religious beliefs, you are not a human yourself.

…and via others to ACT for America the group behind Michele Bachmann's witch hunts. She becomes liable for promoting them..as they were conspirators in inspiring attacks on our US Embassies! and thus parties to the murder of a US Ambassador…. almost fully Traitorous.

This isn't anything new. We all knew that it was done by that idiot. I mean, not only did he LIE to the cast members (which is just horrible in and of itself), he also knew that it'd be pissing a LOT of people off.

He deserves to be shipped over to that country and prosecuted there!
